ORR Teams Sweep Openers

            Boys Soccer: Old Rochester’s boys soccer team played its season debut at Seekonk on September 9 and won 3-0. Senior Grady Oliveira was named the player of the game, scoring 2 goals, as senior Owen Harrington made six saves for the shutout. They’re 1-0 heading into Monday’s home opener against Somerset Berkley (1-1) and will play at Dighton-Rehoboth (2-0) on Wednesday.

            Girls Soccer: The Bulldogs hosted Seekonk in their first game of the season on September 9 and won 5-2. Sophomore Mia Balestracci was named player of the game, scoring 4 goals, while senior Ella Normandin scored and added an assist. Other assists were made by Maddie Hardy, Blair Thomas and Lily Gendreau. They’re 1-0 heading into Monday’s game at Somerset Berkley (0-1-1) and will play Dighton-Rehoboth (1-0-1) on Wednesday.

            Golf: Old Rochester played at Seekonk on September 10 and won 241-271. Senior August Herbert was the medalist, shooting a 38 (+2), and Senior Luke Pierre shot a 39 (+3). The Bulldogs are 4-0 on the season going into Wednesday’s match against Greater New Bedford Voc/Tech (0-4), and they’ll host Joseph Case (1-3) at The Bay Club on September 17.

            Field Hockey: The Bulldogs played at Joseph Case on September 10 and won 4-0. Senior Addyson Spencer was named the player of the game, scoring a hat trick. Old Rochester starts 2-0 on the season, after beating Bishop Stang 2-0 in their opening game on September 8. They’ll play at Seekonk (1-1) on Tuesday and will play at Dighton-Rehoboth (0-1) on September 17.

            Football: Old Rochester hosted Plymouth North in their opening game on September 11 and won 27-13. They’ll host Bishop Stang (0-1) on September 18.
