Football: The Old Rochester Regional High School football team beat Bishop Stang (0-2) 42-14 on September 18. Junior Benji Baptiste carried the ball 17 times for 184 yards and scored four touchdowns, including a 40-yard run. Junior Benny Durocher had 2 sacks, and senior Nolin Vieira was 6 for 6 on extra points.
“The boys played complementary football on offense, defense, and special teams,” said ORR Head Coach Bryce Guilbeault.
The Bulldogs sit at 2-0, as they’ll travel to Dartmouth (1-1) on September 25.
Cross Country: The Bulldogs had their first meet of the season on September 16, hosting Apponequet and Bourne at Washburn Park. The boys beat Apponequet 20-36 and Bourne 17-46, while the girls beat both 15-50. Senior Ryan Calderone was named the boys’ runner of the meet after running an 18:29 5K and finishing second overall. Sophomore Annalise Milhench was named the girls’ runner of the meet, running a 20:17 and finishing first overall. Old Rochester held a 2-0 record heading into Tuesday’s meet at division rival Seekonk.
Girls Volleyball: Old Rochester hosted Dighton-Rehoboth on September 16 and won 3-0 with set scores of 26-24, 25-5, and 25-14. Erin Root had 18 service points, 5 aces, and 14 kills, while Aubrey Griffith had 12 digs and Lucy Lombard had 9 digs. Old Rochester is 3-2 heading into Monday’s game against Fairhaven, Wednesday’s game at West Bridgewater, and a September 25 game at Bourne.
Field Hockey: The Bulldogs played at Dighton-Rehoboth on September 17 and won 4-0. Senior Rayn Lauradin was named player of the game, scoring 2 goals. Senior Morgan LeBlanc had 1 goal, senior Ellsea Roy scored her first career goal, and senior Addison Roy had 3 assists. This win puts Old Rochester at 4-0 on the season heading into Monday’s game at Westport, Tuesday’s game at Fairhaven, and hosting West Bridgewater on September 24.
