Marilyn Louise Kruger

Marilyn Louise Kruger of Rochester, MA, a retired teacher and former longtime resident of Hamilton, MA passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026 surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

            She was born September 5, 1934 in Lynn, MA to Thomas Gilmore and Dorothy Craven Gilmore. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister and beloved husband of 58 years Rayford Kruger. Marilyn graduated from Marblehead High School and received her BS and Masters Degrees from Salem State Teachers College.

            For most of her teaching career she taught business education at Beverly High School. She was known for her kindness, dedication and generosity to her students and peers.

            She leaves behind many friends both on the North and South Shores of Massachusetts. She loved the ocean, traveling and was an avid bridge player. She so enjoyed summers at Good Harbor Beach, sailing in Neptune Suites on Holland America, gaming and dining at Mohegan Sun, and escapes to The Beauport Hotel in Gloucester.

            She is survived by her three children: Dr. Rayford Kruger (Tracey) of Rochester, MA, Karen Cannell (Gary) of Rockport, MA and Julia Badlato (Charles) of Greenlawn, NY. She is also survived by her five treasured grandchildren: Amanda Kruger (Kamy Bruder), Kaitlyn Badlato Adams (Oscar), Jillian Badlato, Joseph Badlato and John Badlato, many nieces and nephews, and one precious great grandson Rémi Ray Bruder.

            A memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to South Coast Health, https://www.southcoast.org/giving/, or a charity of your choice.
