Teen Events at the Mattapoisett Library

School’s out and summer reading is here at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. Stop by to grab a copy of the assigned summer reading lists for Old Rochester and Old Colony students, and to see what books from the list are available for checkout.

The library is also hosting a Teen Summer Reading Challenge. Teens who read a book from the assigned summer reading list and fill out a book review will receive a prize. Students going into grades 7-12 are eligible to participate.

Mark your calendars. Jennifer Mason-Black, author of the YA novel “Sometimes the Girl,” is visiting the Mattapoisett Library for an Author Talk on August 8 at 2:00 pm. This novel tells the story of an intergenerational friendship that changes the lives of both parties involved. Teens who read “Sometimes the Girl,” write a book review on it, attend related programs, and/or attend the author talk will earn raffle tickets for the chance to win a themed gift basket. Keep an eye out for more information, coming soon.

As always, our programs and events are free and open to everyone. For more information, please visit us at 7 Barstow Street, online at www.mattapoisettlibrary.org, or call the library at 508-758-4171.
