Tabor Student Begins Fundraising Drive

Marion resident Charlotte Forker lost her mother Jen to cancer in 2018 and has joined the Students of the Year campaign through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Forker’s goal is to raise $20,000 over the next seven weeks beginning January 29 through March 20.

Jen Forker was a school nurse at Tabor Academy, where Charlotte is a sophomore. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Donations will not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services. In New England in 2020, LLS provided $6,468,800 in financial assistance.

Please visit Forker’s website often and invite friends who would also like to donate! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a 501(c)(3) organization. To learn more or to donate, visit her webpage at events.lls.org/ma/bostonsoy21/cforker. On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, Forker thanks you for your support! A message to Charlotte Forker – my condolences to you and your family during these difficult times. I literally “sailed” through Tabor aboard the Tabor Boy graduating in 1971 and returned after college to participate in the Sea Ranger program aboard the Tabor Boy. My first wife passed away at 49 from cancer and my present wife is heroically battling cancer again. I know exactly what you and your family have gone through.

Charlotte, I own and operate a small company that creates very unique candle holders in which our unique pure beeswax candles and environmentally pure and safe palm wax are burned. When the small insert candle burns out, another small candle replaces it creating an eternal candle. Our product is unique and rather expensive. My point is that there is room in the retail price for a portion of the price to be donated to someone or an organization.

There is no selling, inventory, handling or collecting of any money by the individual or organization. If I might be of any help to you, please e-mail me at coastallightscandles@gmail.com.

Better days are coming for all of us Charlotte. All – a – taut- o or all uptight as we used to call it. I look forward to hearing from you.
