Rochester Senior Center Director Retires at the end of August: Sharon Lally, Rochester Senior Center Director, will retire at the end of August 2019. Sharon has been the Director in Rochester since 2006. Previously, she was the Director in Duxbury and Andover. She has over 25 years of experience and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology. Working with seniors has been her life’s work. Sharon has been the leading force at the Rochester Senior Center for over 13 years. She has orchestrated the expansion of programming for Rochester seniors. Sharon has developed a volunteer program that is the envy of many Senior Centers, and has also led accreditation efforts every 5 years. Rochester is one of few Senior Centers to achieve full accreditation from the National Council on Aging many times over. She will surely be missed.
New Director Announced: At their regularly scheduled meeting on March 6, the Board of Directors welcomed Cheryl A. Randall Mach, of Mattapoisett, as the future Director of the Rochester Senior Center. Cheryl is the former Director of the Mattapoisett COA and has most recently been the Director of the Association for the Relief of Aged Widows in New Bedford. Cheryl will begin her tenure as the Director on August 1st, giving her the opportunity to work with Sharon Lally, the out-going Director, for one month. We look forward to her leadership.
