Rochester Council on Aging

            AARP Sponsored Free Tax Preparation. The Rochester Senior Center is hosting AARP volunteers who will prepare taxes at no cost for all moderate-low income people with special consideration for those 60 and over. This service is offered every Wednesday until April 15th. Please call the Rochester Senior Center to schedule an appointment (appointments must be made in advance). 

            There is no charge for this service. It is available to all low to moderate income individuals with special attention to those over 60 – residing in Rochester is not required. 

            Free Legal Consultations. Attorney Matt Beaulieu is available to answer your legal questions. Appointments are recommended for this very popular free service available on Thursday, April 4 starting at 3:00 pm.

            Veteran’s Social. All veterans of any age are welcomed to this informal social gathering. Refreshments are served for this event on Thursday, April 4 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

            Accreditation Celebration. Come and celebrate our recent re-accreditation on Friday, April 5 at 1:30 pm! Refreshments will be served. We would love to know you are coming in advance. 

            Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. All are welcome on Sunday, April 7 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am. Breakfast is made to order off of our reasonably priced menu. Photos with the Bunny are available for $5.00.

            Council on Aging Board Meeting is on Wednesday, April 3, 9:00 am.

            Breakfast: Served Monday-Friday from 7:00 am – 9:00 am. Reasonably priced menu and free on your birthday.

            Lunch: Special luncheons on most Mondays for a $5.00 donation. Congregate lunches served Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 am for a $5.00 donation. 

            Rides: We provide free transportation for Rochester residents. Please call for a ride with one of our friendly drivers at least 24 hours in advance so we can schedule a driver.

            Rides to medical appointments in Boston and Providence: Medical transportation to Boston or Providence is available for $5.00 via a grant program made available by Coastline Services. Call 508-992-5978 at least 2 weeks in advance.
