Rochester Council on Aging

The Rochester Senior Center has just received word from the National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers that we have achieved full senior center accreditation for another five years! The Rochester Senior Center passed the recent accreditation process with flying colors once again! This is the third time the Rochester Senior Center has gone through the accreditation process. We have been accredited since 2007!

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the yearlong self-assessment process, which was followed by an on-site peer review on February 11, 2019. This process led to the unanimous vote by the National Accreditation Board to approve the Rochester Senior Center for accreditation!

We hope you will join us for a celebration on Friday, April 5, at 1:30 pm! Give us a call if you plan to attend! We will have plenty of refreshments for everyone.

The COA also reminds you that movies are shown every Friday at 1:30 pm. All are welcome, and there is no charge. Join us! Movies are posted on our Facebook page. You can also give us a call to find out what’s playing! We usually know by Wednesday afternoon.

The Rochester Senior Center is also hosting AARP volunteers who will prepare taxes at no cost for all moderate- to low-income people with special consideration for those 60 and over. This service is offered every Wednesday now until April 15! Please call the Rochester Senior Center to schedule an appointment!
