Our Kids’ Summer Reading Program officially started so be sure to come down and sign up. All of our summer reading events are free and open to the public, so you don’t need to register for the Kids’ Summer Reading Program to attend, but you must register to be eligible for prizes.
We are still working on rescheduling events in our Summer Reading Program that were postponed due to weather and our HVAC issues (Our air conditioner is working again, by the way.). Once those are rescheduled, we will let everyone know.
Every Thursday and Friday from now until August 6 and August 7, we have Family Storytime and Baby Storytime. On Thursdays, you can attend Family Storytime at Munro Preserve at 10:30 am (if it’s raining, we will meet at the library), and on Fridays, you can have some fun at Baby Storytime at 10:30 am at the library.
On Tuesday, July 21, come listen to our friends and neighbors from The Inn on Shipyard Park read Pizzasaurus. This event is open to all ages, and there is no registration is required. This event will be taking place at the library, not at The Inn.
Racers, start your engines. We are hosting a kids’ Mario Kart Tournament (ages 8-12) on Wednesday, July 22. The large meeting room will open at around 5:45 pm, and races start at 6:00 pm sharp. While this is a tournament, there will not be any prizes other than the glory of earning the coveted first place – but there will be snacks for all. Registration is required. We hope to see you there.
On Thursday, July 23, at 10:30 am, kiddos can create a vibrant ping-pong ball light craft with fun and creative color combinations. Recommended for ages 3 and up, no registration required.
Come down to the library to take part in some Family Yoga with certified yogi, Sara DaCosta. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and we encourage participation from everyone. Spots are limited, so registration is required.
More information about all of our programs is available on our website, mattapoisettlibrary.org, or by calling 508-758-4171. We hope to see you in the library soon. Until then, keep reading.
