Rochester’s One Contested Race: Constable

For the most part, the ballot for Rochester’s Annual Election this year won’t offer residents much of a choice when it comes to democratically elected town officials with nearly all of the races being run uncontested by incumbents seeking reelection.

The only contested race this year will be for Constable, with three vying for the two positions – incumbent David Hughes, Carolyn Pruchnik, and Marc Slabodnick.

All other incumbents will face no competition and, with the exception of one new name, Kimberly Burt running uncontested for one of the two Library Trustees positions, voters should recognize the names of the remaining ten candidates currently active in their roles and slated for reelection for another 3-year term:

Brad Morse for Board of Selectmen, Jeffrey Eldridge for Highway Surveyor, Diana Knapp for Board of Assessors, Lori Souza for Cemetery Commission, Glenn Lawrence for Board of Health, David Hughes for Park Commission, Dennis Desrosiers for Library Trustees (one of two seats), Sharon Hartley for Rochester School Committee, and Richard Charon for Water Commission.

Rochester’s Annual Election is Wednesday, April 10. Voting is from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm at the Rochester Senior Center, 67 Dexter Lane.
