‘Anything Goes’ Comes to ORR

Prepare yourselves, Tri-Town, because the Old Rochester Regional High School is bringing Anything Goesto ORR and, with the fresh talent of a few new rising stars, the ORR Drama Club is going to make this year’s spring musical the go-to event of the school year.

            The show opens on Thursday, March 28 at 7:30 pm at the ORRHS auditorium and runs every night through Sunday, March 31, closing with a 2:00 pm matinee.

            The show starsLilah Gendreau as night club singer Reno Sweeney, Eddie Gonet IV as Wall Street broker Billy Crocker, Brianna Lynch as the unhappily-engaged Hope Harcourt, Paul Kippenberger as Hope’s wealthy fiancé Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, Luke Couto as “Public Enemy Number 13” Moonface Martin, and Kate Marsden as the ostentatious Erma. And ‘anything goes’ on the deck of the ocean liner SS American in its passage from New York to London – and that goes especially for love.

            Anything Goes, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter, tells the story of Reno Sweeney, Billy Crocker, Hope Harcourt, Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, Moonface Martin, and Erma as they set sail and ride the waves of love triangles, disguises, tap-dancing, and blackmail and hit the high seas of love and adventure.

            The production includes a large cast and crew of over one hundred ORR drama students accompanied by a live orchestra.

            The production isdirected by Jacob Sherburne, with musical direction by Michael Barnicle and choreography by Susan Botelho.

            Ticket are $12 for students and seniors, and $15 for adults and are available at The Pen and Pendulum in Mattapoisett, Plumb Corner Market in Rochester, and the Elizabeth Taber Library in Marion. Tickets may also be reserved by calling 508-863-0696.
