Tri-Town Halloween Events

Residents will have plenty of opportunity to get their spook on at local Halloween events. Luckily, Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so families can enjoy dressing up and trick-or-treating without the usual after-school rush.

The Marion Art Center’s (MAC’s) annual Halloween Parade returns on Saturday, October 31. Participants should gather in front of the Marion Music Hall on Cottage Street at 4:00 pm for lineup.

The MAC’s witches and warlocks have been brewing up plans for a festive parade through town. Costumed characters of all ages are invited to join the fun, whether dressed as witches, princesses, goblins, ghouls, wild animals or spooky spirits.

The parade will head south on Front Street, up Main Street, north on Spring Street and back down Cottage Street to the Music Hall, where the MAC’s witches will hand out candy. Be sure to stop by the Music Hall at the end of the parade for treat bags prepared by the MAC’s good witches. Goodie bags are also available for children with allergies or food sensitivities. Just ask for a Teal Pumpkin goodie bag.

Later that evening, the Mattapoisett Police Department will host its annual Parade and Costume Contest. The parade begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, at the corner of Cannon and Church streets. The costume contest follows at 6:30 pm at Shipyard Park.
