The Sippican Lands Trust (SLT) will host its 2019 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 12at 5:30 pm at the Marion Music Hall, 164 Front Street, Marion. All people are welcome and encouraged to attend SLT’s Annual Meeting to learn more about the work of Sippican Lands Trust and its land conservation work in Marion.
Brad “Old Buzzard” Cook’s presentation titled “Trail Dreams” will explore how connecting with the solace of nature and the dream of hiking “The Trail” altered and saved a life and inspired the goal of reuniting children with the natural world. Cook’s own journey from a deeply troubled young man to an active, outdoor adventurer sparked his interest to initiate a complete physical, mental, and spiritual transformation, a quest for more. After a successful 35-year career in public education, Cook has now focused his energy on getting children out into nature and away from screens. Cook lives with his wife, Karen, and dog, Otis, and splits time between Maine and Massachusetts.
The Marion Music Hall is located at 164 Front Street in Marion. Parking is available at the Island Wharf parking lot and guests are welcome. Light refreshments will be served, and a brief business meeting will be conducted prior to the presentation.
