The public is invited to join the Mattapoisett Land Trust in celebrating our new “All Access Path” at Grace Pond on Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 am. The Council on Aging will be providing a van to the event. MLT began design of the path in 2024 to provide access for people with mobility challenges. We completed the installation this past Spring. During the dedication of the path, we will honor and celebrate the memory of our friend Steven Bowman, who was instrumental in creating this beautiful preserve. Please come join us in celebrating the efforts of Steven and the land trust volunteers to make access to Grace Pond accessible to all. There will be guest speakers and light refreshments. The Grace Pond/Santos Farm preserve is part of the larger Old Aucoot District, which extends from Aucoot Road and Route 6 to Angelica Ave and Prospect Road over to Hollywoods Road. This event is free and open to the public. There is ample parking in the new parking lot near Grace Pond – continue past 15 Bowman Road to the parking area near Grace Pond.
