Adult Events at the Mattapoisett Library

Our summer schedule is packed at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, located at 7 Barstow Street.

            MFPL is hosting a family movie showing of “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” on Tuesday, July 28 at 6:00 pm. This event is designed for community members of all ages, no registration required.

            Learn about Misinformation in Media during a senior tech workshop on Thursday, July 30 at 10:30 am. No registration required & free technology help will be available after the session.

            Attend an Origami Workshop to learn how to fold a tiny lobster. This program is designed for ages 16 & up, and is scheduled for Thursday, July 30 at 3:00 pm. Please register on our website to attend.

            Join us on Friday July 31st at 10:00 am for a Picnic Book Club. Enjoy pastries, beverages, and a discussion about the book you are currently reading, or have read. Reserve your spot on the library website.

            The MFPL Writing Group will meet this month on Tuesday, August 4 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Writers of all levels and genres are welcome, and no registration is required.

            Visit the library for a showing of the award-winning film “In the Whale,” on Friday, August 7 at 6pm.Watch the movie and then stay for a Q&A session with the director, David Abel. Registration is optional.

            Don’t miss The Garden Lady, coming to MFPL on Thursday, August 13 at 2:00 pm. Listen to a presentation on “Success with Vegetables,” and then participate in a Q&A session with C.L. Fornari (aka The Garden Lady). C.L. is an author of many gardening books, the host of a gardening radio show and podcast, and a prolific speaker on all things gardening. Registration is optional.

            Looking to spruce up your plant collection? Need to pass on some of your propagated plants? Join us at the library for a Plant Swap on Saturday, August 22 from 10am-2pm. Check out our website for more info.
