Football: The Old Rochester Regional High School football team played at Dartmouth (1-2) on September 25 and won 13-12. Junior Benji Baptiste was a player of the game with 36 carries for 204 yards and two touchdowns, including a 43-yard run, as senior kicker Nolin Vieira was also named a player of the game, making the game-winning field goal. Old Rochester got the ball back with three minutes and 48 seconds to go in the game, as they started at their own 19-yard line and drove the ball down the field 81 yards, capped off by a four-yard touchdown run by Baptiste with 23 seconds left. Vieira kicked the extra point to give them the lead, and they ultimately closed it out. It’s the first time the Bulldogs have started 3–0 in a season since 2018. The team will host Foxborough (2-1) on October 2.
Girls Volleyball: Old Rochester played at West Bridgewater (4-3) on September 23, and won 3-1 by set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 22-25, and 25-1. Freshman Ady Chua was named the player of the game, as she recorded 42 assists. Junior Erin Root recorded 22 kills, and senior Molly Franco recorded 9 kills. The Bulldogs are now 6-2 and 6-0 in the SCC going into Monday’s game at Apponequet, Wednesday’s game against Greater New Bedford Voc/Tech, and will host Medfield on October 2.
Boys Soccer: The Bulldogs faced Westport (3-1-2) on September 24 and tied 2-2. Grady Oliveira scored two goals, both assisted by Gavin Costa. They’re now 2-3-1 on the season heading into Wednesday’s game at Greater New Bedford Voc/Tech (3-1-1).
