We said we would “Never Forget.” On Friday, September 11, or anytime in September, let’s renew that pledge we made 25 years ago with a little Remembrance and Service.
For Remembrance, let’s create history for future generations. If you lived that day, who was with you, what did you say, where were you, how did you hear, how did you react? Please write down your memories of that horrific day. Drop your written thoughts at the Rochester Senior Center or at the Plumb Library or email your response to rochestereventscommittee@gmail.com. Your Memories will be placed in a Special Binder entitled “Never Forget – Memories of 9/11/2001” to be viewed and kept at the Plumb Library.
For Service, do something nice for someone else. Bring canned goods or vegetables to a local pantry. Call or visit someone you haven’t talked with for a while. Or, in honor of the 9/11 First Responders, donate to our own First Responders. Checks (tax-deductible) can be made to Rochester Fire Fighters Association at Hartley Road or to Rochester Police Brotherhood at 29 Dexter Lane. Please note 9/11 on the memo line.
