Marion PD Investigates Suspicious Person

On Thursday November 14, 2013 at approximately 1:15PM a call was received by this department regarding a suspicious male in the area of the Sippican Elementary School.  The caller stated that approximately an hour earlier, around noon, a school aid bringing students out to recess observed a male walking a small black and grey dog in the area of the tennis courts located at the rear of the school. The male approached the students with the dog and attempted to make conversation.  The male then entered his vehicle which was parked nearby.  A short while later the male got back out of the Jeep and was seeing laying on the grass in the same location.

The aid stated the male then abruptly left the area when he observed her making a call into the school to report his presence. The male was described as follows:

White male, approximately 50 years of age, 6ft tall, average build, clean shaven with grey and black hair. The male was wearing a brown jacket and jeans. He was seen leaving in an olive green 4 door Jeep with a dark top.

Officers responded to the area but the party was not located. There are not allegations or accusations of any crime being committed at this time. Anyone who may have information regarding the identity of this person is asked to contact Detective Scott Smith at (508) 748-1212.
