The Mattapoisett Fire Department responded to a garage fire on Long Plain Road at just after 5pm on Friday. The garage, which was not attached to a residence was reported by the dispatcher as “fully involved” prior to the arrival of the Fire Department. Assistance from the Acushnet and Fairhaven Fire Department’s was called to help with the blaze. The firefighters extinguished the blaze in just under an hour and there were no injuries reported.
