The Machacam Club will hold its November meeting on November 5 at the Legion Hall, 3 Depot Street. Social time is 5:30 pm, dinner at 6:00 pm.
Our special guest will be Rick Charon, owner of Charon Associates, Inc. founded in 1979. His company specialized in typical engineering for the residential market. With the advent of Hurricane Bob, Rick – like other engineers – saw the need for a coastal flood plain and high wind expertise. For the past 20+ years, he also promoted the use of “green” septic systems to mitigate the effects of coastal development. Two years ago, he joined forces with Blue Wave Capital to assist with the myriad of obstacles (hearings and permitting, etc.) they faced in their desire to establish solar arrays, a natural extension of Rick’s efforts with environmentally-friendly work in which he was already involved. Their latest project is the array on Tinkham Hill Road here in Mattapoisett. Rick will present a PowerPoint presentation on his projects.
