Tuesday Night Ensign Races: Another beautiful racing night with light winds. The battle for August heated up as Black Ice won the night with a first and second. Odyssey got a second and third. Hambuglar placed third and first, putting them second for the night in a tiebreaker over Odyssey, placing third for the night. Odyssey holds a one-point lead over Black Ice for the August Series, with one more night left of racing.
Wednesday PHRF Races: The battle in Class B is just as tight as Lindisfarne and Fir Na Tine tied for first place on corrected time. This put Chickadee in third place, with Kinsail in fourth. Chickadee holds a very slight lead in the August Series with one race to go.
In Class A, there is no doubt as Kindred Spirits won again over Restless and has won the August series. Restless is locked in at second for the series. Dame came on to defeat Coconuts for third, and Oddball was fifth. This puts third place for the series up for grabs in the final race next week.
On August 29, Mattapoisett Yacht Club (MYC) will hold the Fall Round The Bay Race. Boats from all over the Bay will compete in two divisions, spinnaker and non-spinnaker. Registration is on the MYC website on the racing page.
Commodores Night will be on August 28 at the MYC clubhouse. Sixteen Past Commodores of MYC will be there to celebrate the past, present and future of the yacht club. All MYC members are invited. (Appetizers are always welcome).
