Once again, the wind was too strong on Tuesday, June 17 for the Ensign fleet to race. The ORR high school team did some in the harbor practice racing.
On Wednesday Night the wind was perfect for the bigger PHRF boats. In Class A Kindred Spirits once again led the way this time however was followed by newcomer Peter Schwebach in Morpheus. Third place went to Restless with Surprise and Coconuts rounding out the fleet.
In Class B Fir Na Tine led the fleet the entire course winning by over 2 minutes over Kinsail and Chickadee, with only 13 seconds separating the second and third place boats. Lindisfarne placed fourth.
In the series totals Kindred Spirits has command so far in Class A, however like last year Class B is up for grabs with Kinsail holding a one-point lead over Fir Na Tine with the rest of the fleet close behind. There are two more weeks of racing in the June series and as they say, “anything can happen”.
