Academic Achievements

Western New England University congratulates the following Tri-Town students named to the Spring 2016 Dean’s List. Students are named to the Dean’s List for achieving a semester grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

– Jonathan Morton, an Accounting major, of Mattapoisett

– Sophia Asker, a Communication – Public Relations major, of Marion

Michael David Cordeiro of Marion graduated with a degree in communication studies from James Madison University during the May 6 commencement exercises.

Megan Psyhojos, of Marion, received a BA degree in Elementary Education at Loyola University Maryland’s 164th commencement exercises on May 21.

Katherine Downey of Mattapoisett has graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University’s Robert J. Morrissey College of Arts & Sciences majoring in Economics.

On Saturday, May 14, on the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) campus quadrangle, 907 bachelor’s degrees were awarded during the university’s 148th commencement ceremony.

– Erin Murphy of Marion was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering with distinction.

– Sean Murphy of Mattapoisett was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering.

– Oliver Lizotte of Mattapoisett was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering.

– Michael Gifford of Rochester was awarded a Master of Science degree in management.

– Gregory Kornichuk of Rochester was awarded a Master of Science degree in management.       Ryan Muther, of Marion, was honored at Union College’s annual Prize Day celebration. Muther was honored with the George H. Williams Prize, which is given to a graduating senior for excellence in computer science.

American International College awarded more than 800 undergraduate and graduate degrees to students representing 18 states and 10 countries during its 2016 commencement ceremony. Congratulations to the following degree recipients:

– Sarah Coucci of Mattapoisett, Bachelor of Science in Occupational Science

– Trisha Motta of Rochester, Master of Education
