Nancy “Nora Beth” Horrocks Chrzanowski

Nancy “Nora Beth” Horrocks Chrzanowski passed away on July 28, 2026, in Austin, TX after a long illness. Born on January 1, 1951, Nancy lived a life full of devotion to her faith, family and church at Mount Sinai Baptist Church (the Mount).

            Nancy was a lifelong learner and avid reader. She graduated from Old Rochester Regional High School in 1968 and the Chandler School for Women in Boston in 1970. She completed graduate studies at Rutgers University and City College of San Francisco, CA. She is a proud graduate from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio TX in 1998.

            Nancy was a deeply spiritual person, guided by faith and acts of service throughout her life. She worked as a Street Evangelist Missionary for the Mount. From 1991 to 2001, she was involved in and served as president of the Houston, TX chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).

            Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, the Honorable Judge Ernest T. Horrocks and Mary, and her sister, Rosemary Cookson. She is survived by her devoted and dear friend, Joseph Sean Cotton, her children, Mary Ellen Chrzanowski and Peter Chrzanowski, her 3 grandsons, Miles, Graham and Emmett Chrzanowski, and her sisters Ellen Horrocks, Patricia Horrocks Apperson and Betsy DiVeglia. Nancy also had a very special relationship with her cousin and God Son, Ben Loughlin, and his children, Jak and Charlotte, whom she also considered her special grandchildren.
