About The Ancient Art of Yoga: This gentle, slow paced yoga series will address the eight limb path of yoga including nurturing our ability to focus, meditate and breathe effectively. In our western culture there is a disproportional focus on the physical postures of yoga and our ability to “perform” them. The postures in Indian yogic tradition are only one of the 8 limbs of yoga which embody the mind, body and spirit as written by Patanjali in 500 BC. This series will facilitate inner awareness, breath work and safe practice of yoga postures that are accessible to everybody. This class is intended to provide deeper awareness of how to calm the mind on and off the mat.
