ORRJHS Brings the Magic of Aladdin to the Stage

Are you ready to be whisked away to an enchanted place where the rugs are magic carpets, genies inhabit golden lamps, rings, and jewels, and a street boy can be turned into a wealthy prince to marry a beautiful princess in disguise? Then rub your magic lamp, hop on your camel, and head to the Old Rochester Regional Junior High School auditorium on March 15 or 16 for the ORRJHS Drama Club’s performance of “The Magical Lamp of Aladdin.”

Starring as the charming Aladdin, Storm Lanzoni will dazzle you with his good looks and the occasional back flip. (No stunt double required here). Watch him ‘become’ Aladdin as he woos the lovely Princess Jasmine played by Emma Zhou. And eventually, with the help of not one, but three genies – Cattarinha Nunes as the Genie of the Ring, Jackson Veugen as the Genie of the Jewels, and Nicole Londergan as the Genie of the Lamp – Aladdin will win Princess Jasmine’s hand in marriage, but not without a few obstacles, first.

During a dress rehearsal on Thursday, March 7, the young actors appeared nearly ready for opening night. The sets are elaborate and exciting and the costumes dazzling, lending a sense of romance and mystery to the stage.

The two shows run Friday, March 15, at 7:00 pm, and Saturday, March 16, at 2:00 pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students age 5-18, or $25 for a family. Children under 4 are free.
