More Mattapoisett Library Events In November

The Mattapoisett Library is hosting many events during the month of November!

            On Tuesday, November 16, at 3:15-4:00pm come to the library for a “Colorful Turkey Craft.” This cute craft can be used as a decoration or place card for your Thanksgiving Day tables! Because we will use hot glue guns, this craft is recommended for ages 6 years and up. Registration is required.

            The Cookbook Club meets on Tuesday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Zaitoun: Recipes from the Palestinian Kitchen by Yasmin Khan. Email Michelle Skaar at mskaar@sailsinc.org with any questions.

            Catch author Richard Rezendes for the Local Author Spotlight on Wednesday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. Rezendes will talk about his book, A Haunting in Mattapoisett, and have copies available for purchase.

            The children’s room is hosting Storytots on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. This simple, weekly story time session is geared towards toddlers. No registration is required.

            On Thursday, November 18, at 3:15 pm, kids can sign up for our monthly graphic novel book club. Our next graphic novel is “The Cardboard Kingdom,” by Chad Sell. The book club will include a brief discussion of the book, a craft, snack, and an introduction to next month’s book. Recommended for children 9 years and up. Registration is required.

            Have you ever heard of Perkins? Tuesday, November 23 at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Erin Fragola, the Outreach Coordinator for the Perkins Library, is coming to the Mattapoisett Free Public Library to discuss all of the amazing services the Perkins Library has to offer! The Perkins Library provides accessible library materials to people who have difficulties reading traditional print, including audiobooks, magazines, braille and large print titles, as well as audio-described movies, all delivered directly to a patron’s home address through postage-free circulation.

            Hear Frederick Thurber’s presentation about creating an audiobook for his title, In the Wake of the Willows, a pastiche of the beloved children’s book, The Wind in the Willows. This Purrington Lecture Series program will take place on Tuesday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. as a hybrid program.  You can attend in person or tune in via Zoom. Registration is not required and you can get the Zoom meeting link by emailing Jennifer Jones at jjones@sailsinc.org.
