The Marion Natural History Museum will be hosting David Orwig, Senior Ecologist and Forest Ecologist with Harvard Forest on March 31 at 7:00 pm at the Museum. David will be sharing his research into the presence of old-growth forests in our state. The talk will include a broad discussion of old-growth forests in Massachusetts- What are they? Where are they? What can they tell us? Through pictures and data from many old-growth forests in the state, many aspects of why these rare forest gems are so special will be described along with the many threats they face.
