Join us for any of our ongoing children’s and adult programs this fall. Programs run regularly through mid-December.
Lapsit Storytime is on Mondays at 10:00 am. This program is designed for babies ages 0 to 24 months. We focus on encouraging positive bonding experiences around literature and supporting parents as they engage their children in early literacy activities. The library will open its doors at 9:50 am for this program.
Nursery Rhyme Time, a new program for ages 3 to 5, is held at 11:00 am on Mondays. Each week will focus on a different nursery rhyme through simple, interactive activities. Research shows that knowledge of nursery rhymes can be a predictor of reading readiness when a child reaches kindergarten.
Family Storytime is on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am. This storytime program is designed for kids ages 0 to 5 and their caregivers. Stories, songs, movement activities, and rhymes help develop early literacy skills.
On Tuesdays, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, kids in grades K-4 are invited to drop in to the library for a new librarian-led activity each week. On September 29, we’ll be learning about papermaking.
Messy Morning is on Thursdays at 10:30 am. Kids ages 2 to 5, their siblings, and caregivers are invited to participate in a different process art or sensory activity every week. The library provides aprons, but we recommend dressing to get messy!
Tweens in grades 5 to 8 are invited to join us for Library Society at 3:00 pm on every other Wednesday. This service-learning group will learn about library work, brainstorm ways the library can meet the needs of kids in our community, and complete service projects like preparing activities for the Library’s Halloween party, making library displays and decorations, and developing activities for Marion’s 175th anniversary. The next Library Society meeting is on Wednesday, September 30.
Adults can bring their craft project to Fiber Arts Club on Fridays at 10:30 am. Create and enjoy conversation with other crafters.
