Phoenix Cup Results — MYC held its last race of the season Wednesday night. Named the Phoenix Cup after the devastating 2022 fire at Mattapoisett Boatyard and Yacht Club, racers from all three divisions join together in a winner-take-all competition.
Rob Ryan in Restless won the contest, beating Don Ross in Coconuts by 29 seconds corrected time. Oddball placed third. Rounding out the 11-boat race were Lindisfarne fourth, Chickadee fifth, Raven sixth, Recess seventh, Hamburglar eighth, Kinsail ninth, Fir Na Tine tenth, and Seven Belles DNF.
The Race Committee went all out tonight, changing their attire for this race — a motley group for sure.
