Sweet Reflections of Summer
As I was strolling through the village the other day, enjoying the beauty all around me — colorful flowers at every turn, our happy little town beach, shipyard park, and people in line for ice cream at “The Slip,” boats bobbing in the harbor — I was feeling so grateful for a town that still celebrates summer things with band concerts on a Wednesday evening overflowing with happy families. As I walked on past Monroe Preserve, I stopped short. What was I seeing? I rubbed my eyes; that can’t be true — a row of monstrous houses overshadowing the marsh. Please don’t let the nightmare come true.
