Longtime New England musician and author Matt York returns to the MAC to perform Johnny Cash songs and tell stories about Cash’s career, spanning from the 1950s to his passing in 2003. He will be accompanied by fiddle player Angelica Vendetti.
He will discuss Cash’s emergence as a groundbreaking artist in the 1950s, his marriage to June Carter and many of his other career highlights. York has twice been nominated for the Boston Music Award for Best Country Artist. He recently released his second book, The Words and Wisdom of Willie Nelson.
It’s a one-night-only show on September 19 at 7:00 pm in the MAC’s Anne Braitmayer Webb Theater, located at 80 Pleasant St., Marion. Tickets are $20 for MAC members and $25 for nonmembers. More information and tickets are at marionartcenter.org/events.
