On Wednesday, August 5, at 3:00 pm, kids ages 8-12 are invited to join the Massachusetts Horticultural Society for Natural Dye and Fibers. Learn how plants can be used for dye and make a creation of your own. Registration is required.
On Thursday, August 6 at 6:00 pm, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society will present information on seed saving. They’ll explore techniques for properly collecting, cleaning, and storing seeds for future use. Whether you’re looking to reduce costs, maintain heirloom varieties, or build a more resilient garden over time, this lecture will give you the tools to carry your garden from season to season.
Get ready for our favorite event of the summer: the Stuffed Animal Sleepover. Kids of all ages are invited to drop off their stuffies before 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 11. Stuffed animals will spend the night at the library and go on an adventure. Then pick up your stuffie after 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 12. You’ll get a story sent to you from the library with photos of everything the stuffed animals did during their sleepover.
We’ll be celebrating the end of Summer Reading with a family concert from local funk band, Get the Funk Out. Join us at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 15 on the library lawn. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit on or even make it a picnic. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be held in the Marion Music Hall.
Tweens and Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for Henna at the Library on Friday, August 7 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Hang out with your friends and get a special henna design from Wicked Good Henna.
