On Saturday, August 22 and 29, and September 5, we are welcoming families to the library for Saturday Storytime. Storytime starts at 10:30 am, and you can expect all the great things from our regular storytimes, like music, books, activities and crafts, just on a different day. We hope to see you there.
Join us for a Sunset Cinema Movie Showing on the Mattapoisett Free Public Library (MFPL) Lawn on August 26 at 7:00 pm. Watch The Lego Movie (2014). Bring a blanket or chairs to lounge on, and some snacks, to fully enjoy the movie experience.
We are continuing our Food for Fines food drive until the end of August. For every nonperishable item you bring in, we will deduct $1 worth of late fees, up to the total amount owed. Donations must be nonperishable, not expired and unopened. Here are some suggested donations aside from the usual canned goods, boxed items and pantry staples: baby essentials, toiletries and household items and pet essentials. Thank you for your support.
Do you have cardboard egg cartons at home? Will you have some soon? We’d like them for an upcoming craft. We need 10 to 15 of both the dozen and half-dozen sizes. Donations must be clean, and they must be made of cardboard/paper material for easy painting. If you have some you can share, bring them in next time you visit the Children’s Department.
