The Tuesday night Ensign Class finally completed two races this week to wrap up July. Odyssey won both races. Black Ice finished second in both races, Hamburglar third, and Recess was fourth. Five races were needed to qualify for a Series. Hopefully, August brings better Tuesday night conditions.
The weather was certainly doubtful for Wednesday’s PHRF racers as thunderstorms and wind threatened to cancel racing. By 5:00 pm, the storm passed, and the races began.
In Class A, Kindred Spirits took first place, Restless second, Coconuts third, and Oddball fourth. Surprise and Morpheus did not race. The July Series winner was Kindred Spirits.
In Class B, only two boats raced, with Lindisfarne winning over Fir Na Tine. Lindisfarne also took the win for the July Series with Fir Na Tine second, Chickadee third, Kinsail fourth, and Seven Belles fifth.
On Friday, August 7, the Marion Yacht Club (MYC) hosts a wine tasting event from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. On Saturday, August 8, MYC members are invited to a potluck dinner. Bring your favorite appetizer and enjoy some friendly conversation.
