The award-winning movie, In the Whale, is showing at MFPL on August 7 at 6:00 pm. The film tells the true account of a Cape Cod fisherman who was swallowed by a whale and survived to tell the tale. Watch the movie and then participate in a Q&A with the director, David Abel. Registration optional.
Attend an author talk with Jennifer Mason-Black, who wrote the novel Sometimes the Girl, on Saturday, August 8 at 2:00 pm. Registration optional.
Join us for an adult craft workshop on August 11 at 5:00 pm. Make a candle out of a seashell, soy wax and essential oils. All supplies are provided, and registration is required.
The Garden Lady is coming to the library for a presentation on “Success with Vegetables” on August 13 at 2:00 pm. Learn the best ways to succeed with your vegetable garden and/or growing, from how to treat a range of issues, how to make the most of your fall and winter harvests, and more. C.L. Fornari is the host of The Garden Lady on WCAI and GBH 89.7, and a frequent speaker to groups and green industry trade events.

Looking to spruce up your plant collection? Need to pass on some of your propagated plants? Join us at the library for a plant swap on August 22 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bring any healthy, pest-free plants to trade. Plants should be easy to carry and properly planted. Please clearly label your plant type. No registration is required. Stop by anytime from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
