Our Kids’ Summer Reading Program officially started on June 23, so be sure to come down and sign up. All of our summer reading events are free and open to the public, so you don’t need to register for the Kids’ Summer Reading Program to attend, but you must register to be eligible for prizes.
We’re trying out a new program this summer. Puzzle Races. Compete against other families for the coveted title of puzzle champions. Registration is required. We only have space for four teams, so when registering, please only register one person from your team. Teams can be 2-6 people, ages 6 and up. Come check it out on Friday, July 3 at 2:00 pm.
There will not be a Family Storytime or Baby Storytime this week, but we will see everyone again next week.
On Tuesday, July 7, at 10:30 am, chill out with a splash of creativity. Swing by with your little ones to craft icy masterpieces using ice cubes. Recommended for ages 2 and up. Registration is required.
Later that same day, at 4:00 pm, come and catch up with our old pal, Thomas Gomes. Thomas will be reading Stellaluna to all the kids and talking about all the cool animals he’s helped over the years. All ages are welcome, no registration required.
On July 8 at 10:30 am, come down to the library for a special storytime dedicated to former Mattapoisett Woman’s Club President and Children’s Librarian, Kate Brown. All ages are welcome, and no registration is required.
Last but not least, the return of a favorite craft on July 10 at 11:00 am: Rainbow Sand Art. Layered sand art bottles are like little canvases packed with vibrant sand, swirling in stunning patterns. The playful dance of colors creates a feast for the eyes that’ll surely make you grin and get the chatter going. Recommended for ages 3 and up, registration is required.
More information about all of our programs is available on our website, mattapoisettlibrary.org, or by calling 508-758-4171. We hope to see you in the library soon. Until then, keep reading.
