Mattapoisett Congregational Church, UCC, is holding a Monday evening study series through the season of Lent called “Sacrament, Social Justice, Scripture, & the Silver Screen.”
On Monday, March 18, the church will show the award-winning documentary, “For the Bible Tells Me So.” This excellent film follows the lives of four families as children discover their homosexuality. Families include those of Chrissy Gephardt, daughter of former Democratic House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt, and the Right Rev. Gene Robinson, former Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire.
The documentary explores how the Bible has been used – and misused – in national and religious LGBTQI discussions.
All events will be held in the church’s basement media room at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome at these casual evening events. Please park in the church’s Barstow Street lot, and enter through the Barstow St. door.
