Water main flushing will be conducted from May 13, 2019 through June 7, 2019.
Flushing will begin Monday, May 13, 2019 at 7:00 pm and will continue until 3:00 am on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in the area of Acushnet Rd. and Crystal Spring Rd. and, Crystal Spring Rd. and North Street.
On May 20th at 8:00 pm until 3:00 am, flushing will take place in the center of town in its entirety including Rte. 6 between North St. and Main St.
Flushing will be continuous from May 13, 2019 through June 7, 2019 during the daylight hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Discolored or red water may be expected along with periods of low water pressure in some areas.
Locations most likely to be affected are those south of Route 6 extending from Main Street east to Aucoot Road and including Crescent Beach, Point Connett, Hollywood's, and Pease's Point.
There may be other areas in town that may be affected due to the hydraulics of the water system.
Chlorine will be injected into the system before flushing begins and will continue for a period after flushing is completed.
