ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Marion shall receive bids for the Hydrant Replacement project, Contract No. HYD-3, via parcel carrier (i.e. UPS/FedEx) at the physical address of the Department of Public Works (DPW) Office, located at the Town's Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), 50 Benson Brook Road, Marion, MA 02738, or via hand delivery at a drop box inside the first door at the WWTP main entrance, until 2 pm prevailing time, Thursday March 4, 2021, at which time bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids may be left in the drop box Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Bidders shall sign the sign-in sheet located on a table adjacent to the drop box to confirm the time the bid was hand-delivered. The bid opening will be video recorded and posted at the Town of Marion website under the "News" tab at http://www.marionma.gov/news.
The Work of this Contract generally consists of furnishing and installing 3 replacement hydrants at locations in the Town of Marion: 361 Front Street, 639 Front Street, and 17 Dexter Road, including associated fittings, valves, appurtenances, trench paving, and site restoration, as required.
Contract Documents may be obtained electronically through the Town of Marion by contacting Meghan Davis, Engineering Manager, at mdavis@marionma.gov.
Bid security is not required under this contract. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 50 percent of the contract price should the total contract amount exceed $25,000.
Complete instructions for filing bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. The bidding and award of this Contact will be under the provisions of "Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 30B, Section 5 (MGL C.30, S.39M)".
Minimum wage rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Labor and Industries under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to27H, as amended, apply to this project.
If the bidder views/obtains the plans and specifications from a source other than those noted in this Advertisement for Bids, the accuracy and/or completeness of the bid documents cannot be guaranteed and the bidder assumes the responsibility for obtaining any additional information regarding the project, including addenda, that may be required for bidding. Failure to acknowledge addenda issued during bidding shall designate a bid as non-responsive.
A copy of this advertisement is available on the Massachusetts Newspaper Publishers Association (MNPA) website (http://masspublicnotices.org/).
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days (Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded) after the actual date of the opening of the General Bids.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interests of the Owner or to limit the extent of the Work to keep within the limits of available funds.

Notice is hereby given that the Rochester Historic District Commission will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 7:00 pm via Zoom regarding an application received from Plumb Corner, LLC at 2854 Cranberry Hwy, E. Wareham, MA 02538 for property located at 0 Rounseville Rd., Rochester MA, further identified on Assessor's Map 30, Lots 24, 25b, and 25c. The Town of Rochester is now accepting bids for a walk-in cooler/freezer located at the Rochester Council on Aging. The structure has been dismantled and is currently sitting on pallets outside the building. All units are available and in good condition. The unit also comes with the 2 doors, and all mechanical equipment. (Condensers and Air handlers). The unit needs to be sold and removed in its entirety and not separate parts or sections, although the purchaser could decide to only use the cooler or the freezer if they wish. The unit needs to be picked up on site and removed. Please contact Facilities Manager Andrew Daniel (adaniel@townofrochester.com) with any questions to arrange for a viewing.
