Marion Natural History Museum608 viewsDuring our after-school netting program at the Harbormaster's beach, the students had a chance to study a variety of our seashore animals. The totals were: 278 silversides, 14 mummichogs, 1 pipefish, 15 glass shrimp, 10 moon jellies, 1 sea nettle and 3 sea robins. There were many other larger fish but we couldn't get close enough to identify them. We were lucky enough to have a warm sunny day to enjoy the activity, and the museum would like to thank the student helpers from both Tabor Academy and ORRHS.

Marion Recreation Department Lifeguards 607 viewsOn July 18 the Marion Recreation Department Lifeguards conducted a training drill at Silvershell Beach. Each week the lifeguards conduct training drills throughout the summer season. This particular drill was done with the Marion Harbormaster's Department and the Marion Fire/EMS Department.

SLT Oyster Fest 607 viewsThe Sippican Lands Trust’s Beer and Oyster Fest fundraiser was a hit despite the threat of approaching Hurricane Dorian, which was replaced with blue skies just in time, and holding the event earlier in the day mitigated the guests’ exposure to EEE-carrying mosquitos.
