Thanks to Pamela Francis of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association the kids had chances to dissect, inspect and bounce their berries to determine whether they were of good quality. A large group joined us on a very chilly night to learn about beavers in Massachusetts. We heard about how beavers create and maintain their lodges, how they cache food for when their pond freezes over, and much more. No more mistaking a beaver, which averages 60 pounds, with a muskrat, which averages 2-4 pounds! We had a chance to examine pelts, skulls, teeth and examples of their favorite food. We
