The group sent a card to a school in Mexico near the Oyamel fir forests of the Central Highlands to share a little information about Marion. Marion Natural History Museum 143 viewsOn Friday evening, the Marion Natural History Museum hosted Dr. Kathryn Kavanagh of UMass Dartmouth’s biology department. Speaking on Humpback whales, Dr. Kavanagh covered several stages, including giving birth (tail first), and how male humpbacks shield the mother while she’s giving birth by creating a bubble-net screen. We met Milo the Fennec Fox and had a chance to compare attributes of Peter Quill the hedgehog to Iris the tenrec. We also met a skunk, a ferret, and a very friendly chinchilla. Timeless Tunes, Tales and Tributes shows are scheduled for Friday, September 5, and Saturday, September 6, at 7:30 pm and on Sunday, September 7, at 4:00 pm at the Marion Congregational Community Center, 144 Front Street. The Irving Berlin Revue singers include Brad Cardwell, Johnny Ashley, Paul Sardinha, Lyn-Marie Dandineau, Sarah Jackson, Mary Caldwell, and Caroline Blaise.
