Families decorated pumpkins, and children enjoyed face painting, a hula-hoop contest, dancing, a visit from Pine Meadow Farm animals and refreshments supported by Tabor Academy volunteers. Pumpkins were later illuminated, giving the pavilion an eerie weekend presence. Sixty-five families preregistered to participate in the event inspired by Marion citizen Dianne Cosman

They will be joined by younger members of the church and Tri-Town community to perform "A Charlie Brown Christmas" pageant at 5:00 pm Sunday, December 18, at St Gabriel’s Church in Marion. All are welcome to come and watch. Join Charlie Brown, Snoopy and his friends to find out about the real meaning of Christmas. There will be refreshments after the performance. 1st Congregational Church of Marion259 viewsThe 1st Congregational Church of Marion staged a group of youngsters to perform their annual Christmas Nativity. The children enjoyed a much-deserved celebration with Christmas food and cookies, and excitement filled the air with the singing of carols and the making of a beautiful nativity scene that they take home to set under their Christmas trees. Marion Concert Band259 viewsPhotos of the Marion Concert Band performing their “A Young People’s Concert” at the amphitheater by Island Warf on Friday, July 11. The band, led by Music Director Tobias Monte, played music from kids’ movies such as “Happy” from Despicable me and many others. We met Milo the Fennec Fox and had a chance to compare attributes of Peter Quill the hedgehog to Iris the tenrec. We also met a skunk, a ferret, and a very friendly chinchilla. St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church258 viewsOn February 21, St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Marion celebrated Fat Tuesday with a Mardi Gras party. We ate delicious food and played lots of great games. Many thanks to the Youth Group for all their hard work preparing the evening’s Louisiana-style foods and for leading the games. Marion Maritime Center258 viewsOn Tuesday morning, the ribbon was cut on Marion’s new Maritime Center. Town Administrator Geoffrey Gorman, State Representative Mark Sylvia, State Senator Kelly Dooner, Executive Office of Economic Development Interim Secretary Ashley Stolba, and Select Board Chair Randy Parker all spoke before the cutting, with Parker handing the big scissors off to the Stolba and Dooner to do the actual grand opening.
