Marion Village Christmas Stroll273 viewsThe Marion Village Christmas Stroll was this past cold and snowy Sunday. Santa and Ms. Clause arrived by their usual boat, though the cold and the wind sure made it look difficult to dock. Excited kids hurled snowballs all around (and at each other) as they waited for St. Nick. Photo by Sam Bishop

St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church 270 viewsSt. Gabriel's Episcopal Church of Marion friends and families gathered after the morning service to make advent wreaths. An advent wreath is a circle of greenery, marked by four candles that represent the four Sundays of the season of Advent. An additional candle is lit as each new Sunday is celebrated in Advent. The making of advent wreaths on the first Sunday of Advent has become a tradition for St. Gabriel's Church. Come and join us next year. Photos courtesy of Tanya Ambrosi

Marion Natural History Museum 270 viewsOn a beautiful Saturday morning, the Nature Journaling group met with artist Tricia Cassady to learn about some techniques for journaling in nature. We took part in some exercises to loosen up and then had fun finding our own specimens to draw. We also had a chance to discuss our different experiences and have some laughs. The museum may be starting to meet monthly so if you’d like to join us, please email the director at www.marionmuseum.org. Photo courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold
