Marion Natural History Museum210 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum afterschool group enjoyed learning about Marion's vernal pools last week. We had a chance to handle some wood frog eggs, take a close look at some aquatic invertebrates, and learn about the temporary nature of these important habitats. All specimens were returned safely to their homes after the program. The museum will be open during April vacation week for crafts and exploration. Check out our website, www.marionmuseum.org, for a listing of all of our upcoming programs. Ph

St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church209 viewsOn February 21, St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Marion celebrated Fat Tuesday with a Mardi Gras party. We ate delicious food and played lots of great games. Many thanks to the Youth Group for all their hard work preparing the evening’s Louisiana-style foods and for leading the games. Everyone was invited to bring and share their favorite dish or dessert and enter the Mardi Gras Cookoff. The winners were crowned this year’s Mardi Gras queens. Photos courtesy of Tanya Ambrosi
