Arts in the Park264 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s annual “Arts in the Park” event was greeted by a gorgeous weekend, as cars lined Marion’s streets and visitors strolled through Bicentennial Park, ducking into the shade of white tents to visit the many artisans and their goods. Pumpkin Palooza264 viewsSaturday’s Pumpkin Palooza hosted by the Marion Council of Aging and the Recreation Department at the Cushing Community Center. Families decorated pumpkins, and children enjoyed face painting, a hula-hoop contest, dancing, a visit from Pine Meadow Farm animals and refreshments supported by Tabor Academy volunteers. Pumpkins were later illuminated, giving the pavilion an eerie weekend presence. Sixty-five families preregistered to participate in the event inspired by Marion citizen Dianne Cosman

Marion Village Christmas Stroll264 viewsDespite eventual rain, the Marion Village Christmas Stroll was enjoyed by many on Sunday afternoon. The event included musical entertainment by Tri-County musicians, Grades 4 and 5 bands from Sippican Elementary School, Sippican Historical Society carolers and Tabor Academy students, horse-drawn carriage rides, street entertainment, seasonal refreshments courtesy of area merchants, goodie bags from VASE, and crafts for kids.
