Marion Natural History Museum162 viewsAfter learning how to build a snake hibernaculum, a beaver lodge, and a bear den, the group tried their hand at creating miniatures for museum display. The beaver lodge was tested to see if it held water back and still kept the lodge dry inside. It was a huge success! Tidelines162 viewsOn May 24, the Marion Art Center opened its newest exhibit by Peter Stone titled “Tidelines.” Stone is a teacher, a philosopher of all things ecological, and a masterful artist. The paintings evoke nature’s many moods through tonal interpretations. The exhibit is open until June 15. On June 7, Stone will give a gallery talk at 11:00 am. Touched-A-Truck161 viewsOn Saturday May 21 children crawled into and Touched-A-Truck at Washburn Park in Marion. The event was sponsored by the Marion Recreation Department in partnership with Marion’s Police, Fire and DPW departments.
