The event included musical entertainment by Tri-County musicians, Grades 4 and 5 bands from Sippican Elementary School, Sippican Historical Society carolers and Tabor Academy students, horse-drawn carriage rides, street entertainment, seasonal refreshments courtesy of area merchants, goodie bags from VASE, and crafts for kids. We found Painted Skimmers, Fragile Forktails and Green Darners as well as several Blue Azure butterflies. Fiber Fusion is the name of the show as well as the name of the five artists whose imaginations are on full display. Christine Anderson, Carol Flax, Lorraine Gentil Hayes, Lisa Horton, and Toni Newhall are Fiber Fusion. Their works bridge the worlds of nature and art in new ways.

Crocodile River Music169 viewsOn Saturday, May 17, as part of Art Week, the Marion Arts Center presented Crocodile River Music performing West African music and dance in Marion's Music Hall to an audience of about 70 people. A few children danced happily along with members of Crocodile River Music during several pieces. For the final piece of the event, almost everyone was up and dancing. The energy was terrific. Marion Village Stroll168 viewsCars lined several Marion streets as residents gathered for the town’s Christmas Stroll on December 12. Front Street and connecting village roads were partially closed for the event, as families enjoyed refreshments provided by area merchants at their doorsteps and along the roads. Clydesdale horses escorted Santa Claus and passengers, while the Sippican Elementary School Band played, Tabor Academy student singer Wesley Lai of Hong Kong sang, and a bike rider juggled bowling pins. Marion Natural History Museum168 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Justin Barrett for the fun time we had last week learning about the importance of the Great Backyard Bird Count. The students were able to identify the many species including Starling (small flock), Mourning Dove, Juncos (good views), Cardinal, House Finch, House Sparrow, and American Crow. And they also found an old nest in a tree. After-school programs included "Monarchs" on March 2, and upcoming is "Fossil Hunting" on March 16. Check out our full list of
