Presiding was the Benjamin D. Cushing VFW Post 2425 Color Guard. The kids had a lesson on using binoculars and had a chance to practice outside. Although it was getting dark, we saw a Junco, several sparrows, and took a close up look at squirrel nest. Marion Natural History Museum237 viewsAfter learning how to build a snake hibernaculum, a beaver lodge, and a bear den, the group tried their hand at creating miniatures for museum display. The beaver lodge was tested to see if it held water back and still kept the lodge dry inside. It was a huge success! Arts in the Park236 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s annual “Arts in the Park” event was greeted by a gorgeous weekend, as cars lined Marion’s streets and visitors strolled through Bicentennial Park, ducking into the shade of white tents to visit the many artisans and their goods.
