According to state fish and wildlife biologists Jason Zimmer and Steven Wright, the population is rapidly expanding into the eastern part of our state. Osprey Marsh Accessible Boardwalk280 viewsDespite a downpour perfectly timed for its planned gathering on Friday off Point Road in Marion, the Sippican Lands Trust celebrated the completion of the new Osprey Marsh Accessible Boardwalk. Executive Director Jim Bride and president Alan Harris held a live Zoom meeting for those who could not attend, and some of the donors for the project assisted in the ribbon-cutting. Despite the blistering hot weather, the rockets were all successfully launched, and the parachutes deployed (most of the time). The students had built their rockets at home before the program with a YouTube video created by the program's presenter, Mike Cronin.

Also speaking were Select Board Chair Norm Hills, Town Administrator Jay McGrail, and the Reverend Eric E. Fialho, rector of St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church. Supporting with their participation were Marion Cub Scouts and the Sippican Elementary School Band under the direction of Hannah Moore.
